Castle of Hradčany (Prague Castle), Prague, capital of the Czech Republic

 "We need to build roads, bridges, airports, locks, dams, and rail that work for this century - not the last one." -- Amy Klobuchar

=====
(in the capital of the Czech Republic, a.k.a Czechia) Prague, at the heart of Europe, is one of the continent’s finest cities and the major Czech economic and cultural center. It has a rich architectural heritage that reflects both the uncertain currents of history in Bohemia and an urban life extending back more than 1,000 years. Among the finest attractions is the Charles Bridge, which stands astride the Vltava River. The winding course of the river, with its many changing vistas, contrasts with the ever-present backdrop of the great castle of Hradčany (Prague Castle), which dominates the left-bank region of the city from behind massive walls set high on a hill. The 1989 Velvet Revolution that freed the Czechs from communism bequeathed to Europe a gem of a city, to which visitors from around the globe have been drawn in droves, and on a mid-summer's day it can feel like you’re sharing Charles Bridge with half of humanity. Yet, the crowds can’t take away from the spectacle of a 14th-century stone bridge, a hilltop castle and a lazy river – that inspired one of the most beautiful pieces of 19th-century classical music, Smetana’s Moldau symphony.
